I have returned from another great trip with Tofino Expeditions, this time the "Hidden Coast" trip from Loreto to La Paz This was my fourth trip with Tofino Expeditions (two in British Columbia and now two in Baja), each one as consistently good as the last. The organization and running of the trip, the food and the overall experience were terrific. The guides, Marcos and Antonio, were superb; very professional and lots of fun.

I just wanted to say what a fabulous time I had on the Experienced Kayaker trip. You have put together a great program with truly great guides…Sergio, Marcos, and Lino. There was never any question we were in good hands with guides who actually knew how to kayak! That may sound odd but Sergio and Marcos seemed passionate about kayaking and teaching skills. We've just returned from the Sea of Cortez trip and I just had to write and tell you what a wonderful experience it was! Our guides were the best, (not to mention great cooks!), and the trip was everything that the website promised and more. Thanks to Tofino for an experience of a lifetime!

We were particularly impressed with all of the Guides. They set a fun, sensible tone but were always in control. When decisions had to be made, they made them clearly and let us know why. We particularly liked what felt like "high end trip flourishes" without making the tone of the trip seem high end. The great food with "home cooking gourmet touches" was just right...much better than trying to impress the clients with overly expensive foods. Spending the time to bake special deserts demonstrated great outdoors skills and willingness to go the extra mile.
Being a teacher and having guided, I was impressed with each guides' ability to go out of their way to fit into the group when appropriate, help when appropriate, educate in an interactive way, and to use their expertise to guide by example. They were always there for us whether leading, helping or explaining. The pace of the trip was perfect. Spending two night in the same place twice worked very well. It kept some of the overhead from getting in the way of the enjoyment. It gave those who wanted to take a break a chance to while those of us who wanted to paddle did. Thanks for making this such a wonderful vacation. I hope you can pass on our thanks to the guides.

What a fabulous trip we had in Baja! Incredible scenery, wildlife, lunar eclipse, shooting stars, whales, wonderful group dynamics. But most of all Jose and Marcos are incredible guides - soulful, joyous, compassionate, experienced, knowledgeable, and just all around really, really nice guys! We were well taken care of.

We wanted to let you know what a wonderful time we had on our trip last week with Chelsea and Sergio. You are fortunate to have such wonderful guides working with you. We appreciated the attention to detail, the environmentally friendly approach and genuine pleasure they had in sharing their wonderful world with us.
We appreciated Sergio’s experience and flexibility. He could assess a situation, see what needed to happen and make it so. We had total faith in his ability as a guide and trusted his judgment without a second thought.
Chelsea’s energy and love of life was infectious. We felt pampered in that she wouldn’t even let us dry the dishes! I particularly enjoyed the stretching that she suggested before our morning paddles.
The trip was more than we had hoped for and the memories will be treasured. We are now saving so we can go to the Galapagos for our 25th anniversary in 5 years time…

I just wanted to drop you a note to let you know how much I enjoyed this trip. As always with trips of this kind, the credit goes to the guides, who were unfailingly professional, helpful, cheerful, knowledgeable and negotiated the waters of group dynamics with as much skill as they did the ocean!
We were unusually lucky in seeing a super-pod on our first journey out (from the water taxi, before the trip had really started!) and then again on our first morning's paddle. Both experiences were truly magical.
Food was great (do you give out your recipe for jambalaya?), campsites were chosen and set up with care, and our guides, really did make the whole trip terrific. They had a real mix of energy levels to deal with and managed it well.
