The Wilderness Kayak Institute is a sea kayaking school providing instructional courses in wilderness settings. WKI’s program of courses combines the best of sea kayaking trips with instruction to create a series of comprehensive opportunities for the development of paddling and seamanship skills essential to mastering the art of sea kayaking.
WKI’s courses are for beginner, intermediate and advanced paddlers making it possible to progress step by step to achieving personal goals. The WKI course routes in British Columbia, Canada and Baja California, Mexico have been well researched and are chosen for their interest, beauty and appropriate level of challenge. Every course approaches its core material from a philosophy of learning by doing and is structured to be both a rich educational experience and a great wilderness trip filled with fun and camaraderie.

They have traveled and kayaked extensively and have trained with a diverse range of organizations and related disciplines including: Outward Bound, NOLS, BCU, CRCA, SKGABC, ACSKG, WMA and Wilderness Alert.
